Jimbaran Bay Skimboarding Program

The goal of  Jimbaran Bay Skimboarding program is to develop children's self-esteem and assist them with shaping their character. In November, a Skimboarding workshop was offered in Jimbaran so that children could have the opportunity to learn how to make their own Skimboards as well as how to Skimboard. The workshop was sponsored by Integrity Resources - a human resources firm from Canada. The company paid for all the food and prizes for the children totaling  US$350. In April 2011, the first Skimboarding opens were held at Jimbaran Beach. 48 children signed up for the competition, but with only 15 skim boards available (7 in house) just 19 children were able to participate.

The Skimboarding program is part of the sports department which is division of YWAM (Youth with a Vision) and UofN Bali (University of The Nations Bali). UofN Bali's goal is to provide a new generation of Indonesians the opportunity to be trained alongside men and women from other nations and be sent into these nations. All courses at the new UofN Bali center are conducted in Indonesian and English.
