The 5th BIZNET Bali International Triathlon

Bali International Triathlon will take place on June 26,2011. The winner of several prestigious awards from leading triathlon magazines and known internationally as the "Triathlon for the Soul" - this year's event is expected to attract over 600 athletes and a thousand spectators watching the race and joining the party at the finish line will be at the Coconut Grove Beach Club located at the Four Seasons Private Estate in Jimbaran Bay with the transition area at The Inter Continental Bali Resort.

The event is comprised of three separate components. The Olympic distance race begins with a 1,5 km swim, followed by a 42 km bike race and ending with a 10 km run starts at 7 a.m. Shortly thereafter, a "sprint-distance triathlon" will get underway covering routes approximately half that of the Olympic event. Adding to the merriment, a 5km fun run will be held during the morning while spectators follow the progress of the main race as they enjoy live music, a colorful bazaar and other entertainments underway at Coconut Grove all morning long.

 

Prizes are awarded for best overall times in both triathlons with additional trophies and prizes for top times broken down by gender and age categories. Corporate relay teams with the swimming, cycling and running duties shared among three racers are also a popular fisture at the race with many Bali hotels and organizations expected to make team entries.
